little harbor

last week i was able to attend a sales rally with my team at little harbor in ruskin, florida. it was so beautiful out there! they put us in the room looking straight out on to the beach. talk about distracting! ...but i'm not complaining. it was gorgeous. =D below are some photos i was able to take while there.

i tend to be a bit stubborn. [just a bit. =)] but add a pinch of independence and a splash of childish demands, you just might end up like me. someone who without conviction and accountability can stray quite easily. sadly, it sometimes takes something big to happen in order for God to get my attention. i'm not proud of that either.

well, lets just say that after some difficult situations, (that could have been avoided had i listened to Him in the first place), He finally has my attention. and this time? i'm not letting myself get distracted. =)

14. in high school, my best friend stacy and i would ride the ferris wheel during the 4-h fair and scope out hot boys. well... one in particular. =)

i quit

my body just can't handle it anymore. it has finally quit on me. i have had to trade in my long days at the office, my trips to the beach, and even my grande burrito bowl for sniffling, sneezing, and the constant need to clear my itchy throat.

i am officially sick. =( (long exasperated sigh)

old men are fearless

old people crack me up. especially here in florida. the other day, i saw an old man on a scooter zip threw our parking lot at work. he had to have been going at least 15-20mph. had to. funniest thing ever. i just shook my head and laughed.

well today, hmm, yes today... i was sitting in my car, talking to my dad on the phone, when i saw the same old man on his scooter.

i was facing the highway. a 6 lane highway...

the old man was driving his scooter ON the highway! it blew my mind! cars were whizzing right past him. in the opposite direction.

i hung up on my dad just so i could get this picture. [sorry dad. i love you. =)] i died laughing.

i wonder what stupid thing i'll be doing when i get that old.
hahaha.

labor day weekend

what a trip! me and bethany and natalie and franklin and brian and cory and april all headed out to anclove island to celebrate our three day weekend together. =)

us ladies arrived in style and relaxed while our gallant young men unpacked our water carriage, assembled our castle, started a fire, and cooked us a delicious bass. ...wait, wait, wait. THAT didn't happen. [boys are stupid and think girls should do everything while they play with their toys. (rolling eyes)] ...ok, so it wasn't that bad. they helped. and built the fire--with a blow torch. WE could've done THAT.

we were busy busy bees the whole weekend though. we ate and drank and chatted with drunken elderly people and jet ski'd and ate sand-grown watermelon and played with sharks and sung merrily 'round the fire. we threw sand and got into fights and even shot off fireworks in honor of cory's birthay. (happy birthday cory!)

the island

i was so exhausted from the excursion that i could barely keep myself awake to do laundry monday night. i'm glad i had my of team of muscle men on hand to keep my eye lids open.

not.

its real simple

for the last couple of years, my mom has bought each of us sisters a magazine subscription to better homes and garden (bhg). but now that i'm living with bethany, who also gets that same magazine, my mom has upgraded my bhg status to real simple. (arrogant smile) i'm now the ONLY girl in my family to receive such a coveted magazine subscription.

i LOVE real simple's magazine. the rich feel of the pages, the delicious articles, the fantastic pictures, the CRAFTS! i love it all!

i've been waiting oh-so-patiently for my very FIRST subscription to arrive and guess what. it came in the mail today! yay! i called my mom immediately and gushed over the whole thing. my mom was tickled to death of course and we set a date for later this week. she'll be sitting in her chair, wearing pajamas, her coffee in hand, with me on the phone as we pour over each page together.

i'm gonna love doing this with her. its one of the few things i'll be able to share with my mom where its just me and her. NO other siblings to get in my way. i'll have my mom ALL to MYself. (eat that gnomies.) =D

i still love bhg. but not as much as my real simple. =)

you've GOT to be kidding me

i mowed last week and because i'm prone to locking myself out of my car (and my house... pretty much anything that requires a key) i made sure that i kept my keys near me just to be safe. i set them on my car so they wouldn't fall out of my pocket because i knew if i did, i'd find myself having to endlessly search my lawn for my keys.

i finished up mowing, put my stuff away and went inside to relax. i woke up the next morning and guess what. i couldn't find my keys anywhere. shocker i know! i knew they were there somewhere, i had them just the night before and i hadn't gone anywhere! so instead of looking all over, i decided to use my spare set and look for my keys once i got home from work. i grabbed the spares and rushed out to my car only to find THIS:

i had left them OUTSIDE over NIGHT! i could have been robbed! ...but i wasn't. =)

a couple days later? i couldn't find them AGAIN. i knew i set them down somewhere! i used my spares once more. (thank heaven for spare keys!) two days later, i needed a band-aid and found this.....
