happy birthday UL

happy birthday underwriters laboratories. =)

here are some interesting points of history throughout UL’s 115 years of service:

- william henry merrill (founder) issued UL's first test on march 24, 1895.

- in 1942, UL began testing devices to protect against sabotage of u.s. wwii equipment.

- in 2002, UL partnered with disney, creating a safety exhibit featuring timon and pumbaa from disney’s ‘the lion king’ at ‘innoventions at epcot’ at the walt disney world resort in florida.

- and in 2006, UL water hired me (yay!) as a project assessment handler; and later promoted me to administrative specialist to the project management department. [titles. (rolling eyes)]

i have loved working for this company and i have learned MANY things about life and about business. UL has been by far, my favorite job. =)
